a new blog
This is meant to be a public place to share the things I've learned and am currently learning, primarily for friends and colleagues, but to anyone who finds them useful.
The focus will be on software engineering (linux, scripting, dist systems, etc) and probably contain a lot of things I learn at $DAYJOB working on large scale infrastructure for an S&P 500 tech company that provides a B2B observability platform. But it will also contain lots of things I'm toying with on my own. I'm not an authoritative source, and if I say something wrong, I'd love to be told (gently) so that I can learn and fix it.
I may occasionally also post about music and books. Sorry.
I've tried this before on Medium/Substack/Twitter and it didn't stick. I think there's too much going on there, getting in the way of writing. Bear's platform is wonderfully barebones, which is exactly what I need, but perhaps we'll have to spruce it up with some plugins:
